A Monopod, also called a Unipod, is a pole used to help support cameras (or, less frequently, binoculars). It allows a still camera to be held steadier, allowing the photographer to take sharp pictures at slower shutter speeds, and/or with longer focal length lenses. When used by itself, it eliminates camera shake in the vertical plane. When used in combination with leaning against a large object, a bipod is formed; this can also eliminate horizontal motion.

This Monopod is made to fold,  when not in use, allowing to be easily transported and stored do to its light weight.
Unlike a tripod, monopods cannot support a camera independently, limiting the shutter speed that can be used. They still allow lower shutter speeds than hand holding, and are easier to carry and use than a tripod.

This battery charger was so much less than the Canon charger, I was very skeptical it would even work. However, I tried it anyway since it was so low cost. It works fine. It is slightly larger than the original and seems lighter in weight, that makes it feel more cheaply made. But since it works well, I won’t complain. If it wasn’t for that I would have given it 5 stars. It includes a plug for the car power outlet so that is a bonus.

I purchased this item from Amazon for my Powershot S5IS two months back. The purpose of my going for this is to substitute the use of the built-in flash in case I resort to use the Wide Angle Lense attachment. This extenal flash works considerably well for this purpose. Remember I used the word ” Substitute “. It is, because the EFFECTIVE RANGE of this flash is little farther than the built-in flash. The maximum range of the built-in flash is 17ft. The maximum range of this external flash is specified as 51ft. But to my experience it is not more than the half way i.e. about 24-25ft. Any how, it justifies my saying it a ” Substitute “. When the Wide Angle attachment is used the built-in flash can not be used, as it gives a hemispherical shadow on the lower side of the picture due the 58mm size. Hence, it is suggestive to have an exterrnal flash to substitute the built in flash. While using the Wide Angle attachment and the external flash I observed some times the focus and the white balance changes. Hence, one has to make adjustments for these two things before shooting. Over all the external flash serves as a good substitute for the built-in flash of the S5IS. I have taken some beautiful pictures during a marriage ceremony in India a few days ago. I am satisfied with the performance of this flash for the purpose I needed it.

I bought this for my EF-S 70-300 for use on my Canon XSi, it works great and is a fraction of the cost of other similar hoods. Addendum: Now having owned this hood for several months, I still like it, but would probably change my grade to 4/5 stars. The reason being, the Canon hoods come with a felt-type lining (unlike this hood) this helps to further reduce any glare that may get inside the hood itself and affect your shot. Still, however, a good product for the beginner and especially for the price.

Camera bag is nice and durable. Our Canon Ti1 fits snugly with two lenses (base plus telephoto) and a few small items (extra cards, cords, cleaning cloths and camera strap.) We recently found out that it is not waterproof. There is a lot of insulation, so the camera didn’t get wet (even in a pretty steady downpour.) We’ll be spraying it with scotchguard before our next big trip, though, so as not to have to deal with a damp bag. Got a great price on Amazon- the price at Target was about more.
